Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ’s
Will Necto work during a power outage?
Yes! The cellular temperature monitor has a 72-hour backup battery for any power failure. It sends instant alerts when power is lost and restored, keeping your vacation home safe 24/7.
Can I manage multiple Necto devices?
Yes! You can manage multiple devices from one account. We offer enterprise terms and hardware discounts for 10+ units, ideal for multiple properties, greenhouses, or server rooms.
How often are readings updated?
If an alert is triggered, the device will send updates and alerts in real time. Otherwise, the device will update the temperature, humidity, and power status on the app every 10 minutes.
Is an existing cell phone contract required?
No. The cellular connectivity is completely built-in to the device. You don’t need a separate cell phone contract—it’s ready to connect to the cellular network right out of the box.
Does Necto require WiFi to work?
No, WiFi is not required. Necto uses 4G LTE cellular technology to transmit data. This makes it the perfect solution to monitor locations where internet access is unavailable or unreliable.
Can I add multiple contacts to receive alerts?
You can add up to 5 email addresses and phone numbers to receive unlimited text or email notifications if critical changes in temperature, humidity, or power status occur. (edited)
